Why

The gap-filling impulse is the origin of everything that followed. It is not "I want to be known" but "I notice something missing and I can put it there."

That distinction matters. An audience-building frame produces calculated content: what will people respond to, what will grow the channel, what performs. A gap-filling frame produces honest content: what is actually missing, what can I actually say about it, what does the person asking the question actually need.

Why-Not

Why not wait until production quality was higher? Waiting would have meant waiting forever. The gap was visible now. The questions were being asked now. Production quality is a proxy for confidence. Starting without it is the founding discipline.

Why not build a brand strategy first? A brand strategy would have produced a strategy, not a channel. The 16M view run was not the result of a brand strategy. It was the result of answering real questions honestly for long enough that the accumulation became something.

Why not start with a different medium? YouTube in 2007 was the medium where the questions were being asked. The platform matched the gap.
