YY's World is simultaneously a site for kids and a genealogical artifact of Ben's life.

No idea what shape the entries will take. As long as the 6 invariants are honored, the site will take any shape — and will double as genealogical artifact because the invariants ensure that. Scars and Timestamping in particular make every entry a life record whether or not that is their surface intent.

Why

YY has been with Ben for 40 years. Every entry that includes YY documents both of them — a 40-year-old stuffed squirrel and the human who has carried him since childhood. That documentation is not incidental. It is structural. The invariants guarantee it.

Precursor: 300 YouTube videos, 16 million views. Practice logs in public. That body of work already demonstrated what provenance at scale looks like — scars visible, timeline intact, reasoning traceable. YY's World is the same posture applied to a different medium.

The genealogical purpose requires no announcement. The 6 invariants produce it automatically. Compression preserves the core. Scars preserve the failures. Survivability ensures the record outlasts the moment. Explainability makes it legible to future readers — including grandchildren. Timestamping anchors every artifact in its historical position. Discipline keeps the whole thing from drifting.

A kid reading a YY entry gets a creative artifact. A family member reading the same entry decades later gets a genealogical record. The invariants make both readings simultaneously available without the surface form trying to be both.

Why-Not

Why not keep a separate private journal? A private record survives only as long as the medium and the owner's control over it. A public record with strong invariants survives independently. The genealogical artifact must be structurally capable of outlasting the operator.

Why not call it a memoir or autobiography? Those are deliberate genres with editorial conventions — narrative arc, selective emphasis, retrospective framing. A genealogical artifact produced by the YY Method has no retrospective framing. Each entry is a snapshot from its moment, timestamped, with scars intact. That is structurally different from memoir.

Why not separate the kids' content from the life record? The dual purpose is the point. The same artifact that is legible to a kid is legible to a future descendant. Separating the surfaces would require each to do less work and would eliminate the coincidence that makes the genealogical record authentic rather than curated.

Commit

Decision: YY's World is a genealogical artifact. The 6 invariants make every entry a life record. The genealogical purpose requires no announcement. It is structural.

Confidence: Absolute — the invariants guarantee it by definition.
