Capture

YY's World is the structural inverse of the professional YY Method context.

In the professional context: knowledge flows inward from the operator to the institution. The operator captures reasoning; the institution gains a durable artifact; AI reads the artifact and synthesizes for institutional use. The reader (institution, AI, successor) is the beneficiary. The operator is the source.

In YY's World: knowledge flows outward from the operator and YY to the reader. The operator publishes reasoning; the reader absorbs it; the reader owns what they take. The reader is the beneficiary. The operator is the source. Nothing flows back.

Same method. Same five-step loop. Opposite direction. Same protection of provenance — but the provenance being protected is the reader's, not the operator's.

Why

The inversion proves the method generalizes. The YY Method is not inherently extractive — it does not require a recipient institution that aggregates knowledge. It is a structure for preserving reasoning chains, and those chains can be preserved for the benefit of the person who receives them rather than the person who holds them.

The inversion also clarifies what the professional context is doing. When an institution uses the YY Method to capture employee reasoning before the employee departs, the institution is claiming provenance over someone else's cognition. That is the professional use case — legitimate, valuable, necessary. But it is hoarding in one direction.

YY's World is the same system designed to scatter rather than to collect. Both are valid applications of the method. The choice of direction defines the relationship between operator and reader.

Why-Not

No meaningful alternative was considered. The inversion is not a design choice — it is the founding constraint derived from the purpose of the site. A site that collected reader reasoning while publishing operator reasoning would be the professional model, not the YY's World model. The founding ADR (C2-003, Data Posture) rules this out at the architectural level.

The Deeper Claim

The inversion answers a question the professional YY Method raises but does not answer: what protects the individual's reasoning from being absorbed by the institution?

The YY Method protects institutional knowledge from being lost when people leave. It does not protect the people from having their knowledge absorbed. YY's World trains the people — before they enter institutions — to know that their reasoning belongs to them, has provenance, and should travel with its papers. The method taught young produces adults who bring their own chain of custody into whatever institution employs them.

The professional YY Method and YY's World are not competing applications. They are the same method applied at different life stages to protect different parties in the same knowledge relationship.

Breaks If

The site begins collecting reader reasoning (comments, feedback, contributions). The operator begins treating reader engagement as an asset. The site's purpose drifts from scattering to collecting.

Tribal Context

Operator supplied: The inversion insight — same method, opposite direction; the observation that the professional context is one direction and YY's World is the other.

Session supplied: The deeper claim — that the two applications are the same method at different life stages, protecting different parties in the same knowledge relationship.

Commit

Decision: YY's World is the employer inversion. Provenance flows outward. Nothing returns. The method protects the reader's reasoning by teaching them to claim it before institutions can absorb it.

YY'S TAKE: YY notes that squirrels bury acorns to scatter the forest, not to build a vault.

Confidence: Permanent.
